When something is not working

Start with checks that protect your work, then narrow down sign-in, sync, AI, and notification problems.

In this guide

Keep your work before trying a reset

If a screen fails while you are writing, keep the draft open if possible. Note the message shown and the action you were trying to complete. A connection failure does not always mean nothing was saved, so check the relevant list or history before creating a duplicate.

Do not start by deleting the app or clearing browser storage. Device-only content can be lost. Confirm that important content has synced, or export your devotions from Settings → Privacy & data, before making a change that could remove local information.

Check your internet connection, then reopen the affected screen. For a browser page, refresh after preserving anything unsaved. Check whether a newer app version is available if the problem keeps happening.

If sign-in or sync is stuck

For sign-in, confirm the phone number and country code you entered, follow the current verification prompt, and use the latest code you requested. If the account service says it is temporarily unavailable, try again later; creating several accounts will not fix a service interruption.

For missing content, first check which Glean account is signed in. Then open your account’s Encrypted sync screen and review the status and selected local content. A devotional kept local on one device will not appear on another merely because both devices have the app.

If the sync screen offers Retry all sync now, use it and allow time for completion. Keep the original device and its content intact while investigating.

If AI or notifications are unavailable

For an AI request, check the connection, the applicable permission, and the selected AI option. Hosted Glean AI may need a signed-in account and credits or active access. Your own Gemini option needs a valid key. Check account activity if an interrupted request leaves you unsure about its result or charge.

For missing alerts, check Glean’s notification choices and the iPhone’s notification settings for Glean. An enabled in-app preference still needs iOS permission. Focus settings can also affect when you notice an alert.

Muting support or feedback push alerts does not remove those updates from the in-app notification bell. Open the app and check the conversation or request directly.

Give us enough detail to investigate

Tell us the device you are using, the Glean version if known, what you expected, what happened instead, and the shortest steps that reproduce it. Include the approximate time and any error wording. Crop screenshots to the relevant area and remove private content.

Use Report a bug in Settings and review its disclosure before submitting, or email support. Do not post account details, private prayers, conversation text, passwords, or API keys on the public feedback boards.
